The Resort in Summer

Resort

Chalet Chardon Bleu situated in a small hamlet just a few minutes’ drive from St Martin de Belleville. St Martin located at 1450m is an authentic Savoyard village and is often described as ‘the hidden gem’ of Les Trois Vallees. The area is ideal for a mountain adventure holidays as St Martin is a year round village.

The summer is a time for relaxing and enjoying warm crisp clean air, beautiful colours, friendly people, local produce and mountain adventure. The village backs onto the Vanoise national park that offers spectacular walking and wildlife.

Les Menuires and Val Thorens are a just a short drive further up the valley, where you will find even more facilities including two sports centres, mountain bike circuits, swimming pools etc. In summer selected lifts operate to take you (and your bike) high into the mountains.

Choosing your Season

To see the fantastic alpine meadows full of flowers, you need to come in spring / early summer – late May or early June is best. You can see wildlife and other flowers all year round, but access to the high mountain pastures is easier from June to September.

To enjoy the hottest weather and access to the peaks by Cable Car (this makes it possible to do longer distances in a day and also enables shorter walks at the top, taking in the best scenery without the climb!), we recommend July and August.

For amazing autumn colours come in late October or November – but be prepared for some chilly days!
